Finding the Right Level of Care Changes Everything
One of the most common reasons mental health treatment doesn’t work isn’t the treatment itself — it’s the fit. Too little structure and you don’t build real momentum. Too much and it becomes impossible to sustain alongside real life.
At South Orange County Wellness, we offer three levels of mental health programming in Orange County, each designed for a specific stage of the care journey. Whether you’re in the middle of a difficult stretch and need intensive daily support, working to maintain progress you’ve already made, or somewhere in between — there’s a program here built for that.
Our clinical team works with every person who reaches out to help identify the right starting point. You don’t have to figure that out on your own.
Our Mental Health Programs

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
The most structured level of care we offer.
PHP runs five days a week with structured programming built into every day — group therapy, individual sessions, and clinical support from a team that follows your progress closely. You come in during the day and go home in the evening.
It’s the right fit if you’re:
- Navigating acute symptoms that need daily clinical attention
- Transitioning from an inpatient or residential stay
- Finding that less structured care hasn’t been enough

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Structure and support, without putting your life on hold.
IOP meets three to five days a week and combines group therapy, individual sessions, and practical skills work. It’s designed to fit around work, family, and the rest of your life — while still providing real, consistent mental health care.
It’s the right fit if you’re:
- Stepping down from PHP and maintaining your progress
- Starting treatment and needing more than once-a-week therapy
- Stable enough to manage daily responsibilities but ready for real support
According to SAMHSA, IOP is specifically structured around a minimum of nine clinical hours per week — a meaningful level of care that research consistently shows produces real outcomes for anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health conditions.

Individual Therapy and Ongoing Care
Consistent, one-on-one support for the long haul.
Our individual therapy program offers ongoing care through personal therapy sessions and psychiatric services. It’s the right level for those who are earlier in their journey and building a foundation, or for those who’ve completed a higher level of care and are committed to sustaining what they’ve built.
It’s the right fit if you’re:
- Beginning mental health treatment for the first time
- Stepping down from IOP and continuing your progress
- Managing your mental health with regular, consistent support
